SENZOKU GAKUEN COLLEGE OF MUSIK - SILVER MOUNTAIN OPENUNG CONCERT

157 - Auf der Suche nach chinesischer Musik bin ich auf die KOTO gestoßen. Die KOTO ist eine japanische Wölbbrettzitter die meist mit 13 Saiten bespannt ist. Die KOTO ist von der chinesischen GUZHENG abgeleitet, die bereits während der Zeit der Streitenden Reiche (481 - 256 v Ch.) populär war. Die Saiten der KOTO sind alle gleich gespannt. Die verschiedenen Töne werden durch verschiebbare Stege (Ji) erzeugt. Die Stege werden auch während dem Spielen verschoben um den Klang der KOTO zu beeinflussen.
Das SILVER MOUNTAIN OPENUNG CONCERT zeigt schön die Klangvielfalt der KOTO. Die KOTO wird auch gerne in der transzendentalen Musik verwendet, dort aber meist nur sehr langsam gespielt.
